General Surgery and Neurosurgery at St. Mary's General Hospital
Physicians from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School provide general surgery, neurosurgery, and pediatric neurology services at St. Mary's General Hospital.
Our general surgeons provide services in the field of digestive disease surgery, including surgery of the liver, pancreas, biliary tract, stomach, colon, and rectum, as well as treatment of inflammatory bowel disease. We also have special expertise in complex hernia repairs and abdominal wall reconstruction, in addition to thyroid and parathyroid surgery and surgery of the endocrine glands.
When clinically appropriate, laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgical techniques are used to enhance patient recovery time. Patients requiring re-operative or complex surgery are particularly welcomed for a referral.
Neurosurgery and Pediatric Neurology
Our physicians from Rutgers Neurological Institute of New Jersey and Pediatric Neurology, both part of Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, provide diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of diseases and conditions.
Some acute and chronic neurological disorders that we treat include neurocutaneous disorders, neuromuscular disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, neonatal complications, brain tumors, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, and developmental delays.
We offer the most advanced procedures in computer-guided and minimally invasive surgical techniques.
