I was originally born in Jamaica and immigrated to the U.S. at the age of eighteen. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the Johns Hopkins University and then pursued an MD and Ph.D. in Epidemiology through the Medical Scientist Training Program at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. I completed an internship at the New York- Presbyterian Hospital followed by a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. I also completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Epidemiology at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. In addition to caring for my patients, I am passionate about research. I have authored/co-authored several publications as well as written a book How to do a Research Project. I am a reviewer for several different OBGYN journals including Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology, and the Journal of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology. Also, he has officially been named a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG). I was honored to be voted as being among the top 10% of scientific reviewers for Obstetrics and Gynecology, the highest- ranked journal in the field in the United States.
