Complete Ethics Training by November 15
September 16, 2025
Dear Colleagues,
University Ethics and Compliance has developed a Rutgers-specific ethics training module for all faculty and staff. This mandatory training is designed to equip all university employees with critical information about the requirements of the Rutgers University Code of Ethics, the New Jersey Conflicts of Interest Law, and other ethical standards and policies, including requirements related to gifts, outside activity, attending events, and scholarly activity, as well as other conflicts of interest, both personal and professional.
This training is required by the New Jersey State Ethics Commission and has been approved by the Commission to meet this requirement.
Completion of this training is mandatory for all faculty and staff, including student workers —full-time and part-time — and should take approximately 30 minutes to complete. I have already taken the training and can confirm that it is very well done.
Below are some important details about the mandatory training:
- Deadline: All staff and faculty or employees in Rutgers Health must complete this mandatory ethics training by November 15, 2025.
- Note: New employees are required to complete the training within 30 days of their start date and will be assigned the training automatically with the appropriate due date.
-
Access: To begin this ethics training, navigate to the RU Learning platform here and log in with your NetID and password. If prompted to enter a username, please enter your credentials beginning with your Net ID (do not include any extensions in your email address; use only the format [NetID]@rutgers.edu), which will direct you to the single sign-on page.
- Reminders: As the December 31, 2025 University-wide training due date approaches, you will receive automated weekly email reminders from the ethics@uec.rutgers.edu address. If you fail to complete the training by the December deadline, your name will be added to a delinquent list, additional reminders will be sent on a regular basis, and we will need to look into options for formal discipline.
Thank you for your compliance with and timely completion of this mandatory training. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to ethics@uec.rutgers.edu.
