Discouraging Spring Break Travel

Dear Rutgers Community Members,

As part of our continuing efforts to protect our employees, students, patients, and their families during the pandemic, we are writing to remind our community members that the State of New Jersey’s travel recommendations continue to strongly discourage all non-essential interstate travel - even for individuals who are fully vaccinated, even if it’s spring break.

COVID-19 and its more transmissible variants are present in New Jersey and throughout the country. Please help stop the further spread of the virus, and protect your friends and loved ones, by avoiding travel this spring break.

Travelers and residents returning from any U.S. state or territory beyond the immediate region (New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Delaware) are still expected to self-quarantine at their home, or temporary lodging. International travelers should review the CDC's COVID-19 travel recommendations by destination. 

Thank you for your continued commitment as we work together to manage this global health crisis.  Please remember to Wear a face-covering, Watch your distance, and Wash your hands!
