Moving Forward

Dear Members of the RBHS Community:  

Last week, President Holloway was joined by Dr. Prabhas Moghe and Antonio Calcado in announcing that COVID-19 vaccination has been added to the Immunization Requirements for Students beginning with the Fall 2021 semester. This trailblazing decision supports the health and safety of all of the members of our university community, and has been made possible by the availability of several extraordinarily effective and safe vaccines. 

RBHS has effectively employed public health safety measures, the university’s strategic testing program, and contact tracing to maintain in-person clinical education, training rotations, and graduate level research activities since last summer. Over the coming months we will continue this work with care and caution as we return more of our programs to in-person instruction.  RBHS deans and program leaders will provide further guidance and information regarding their specific units and programs in the near future.  In the meantime, you can learn more about the vaccination requirement and other frequently asked questions about COVID-19 vaccination and Rutgers at coronavirus.rutgers.edu/covid-19-vaccine. 

Rutgers has been a national leader in the fight against COVID-19 from the outset. Our clinicians, trainees, and staff were (and continue to be) on the front lines delivering life-saving care to our communities, our research revolutionized virus detection nationally, and our community rallied to support one another and continue our academic pursuits with unprecedented vigor.  As we look forward, our goal is to continue to provide RBHS faculty, staff, and students a safe environment that stimulates learning and productivity.
