New Website for Guidance on Federal Actions
February 5, 2025
Dear Rutgers Health Community,
This afternoon, Rutgers University published its FAQ on recent federal actions and their potential impacts. A few clarifications below, of particular relevance to Rutgers Health.
For Immigration Matters: Federal authorities, including immigration enforcement, are not precluded from entering campus or our clinical settings. If you see federal authorities at a Rutgers facility or clinic, do not attempt to engage them yourselves. Immediately contact the Rutgers University Police Department (RUPD) and report the details:
- Rutgers Health at Newark: 973-972-4491
- Rutgers Health in and around New Brunswick: 732-932-7211
For Researchers: If you receive any stop-work orders related to sponsored research, do NOT ignore them. If you do receive one, please email federaltracking@rutgers.edu, copying the Rutgers Health Office of Research at svcaar@rbhs.rutgers.edu. Before taking any action, consult with your assigned grant specialist. In the meantime, please continue your research efforts and adhere to published deadlines.
Rutgers Health, in collaboration with the President’s office, remains committed to keeping you informed as policies evolve in this rapidly changing environment. Above all, we remain steadfast in our values and our mission to serve our communities—both within Rutgers and beyond.
Sincerely,
Brian L. Strom, MD, MPH
Chancellor, Rutgers Health
Executive Vice President for Health Affairs, Rutgers University
