Supporting our International Community
April 8, 2025
Dear Rutgers Health community,
As you may know from President Holloway's recent message, some international students at Rutgers have had their lawful status in the United States unexpectedly terminated. This action is occurring at universities across the country.
At Rutgers Health, our mission of improving health for all people through education, pioneering research, and exceptional patient care has always been strengthened by international collaboration. From breakthrough discoveries in our laboratories to advanced clinical care in our practices, the contributions of our international colleagues and students are integral to our continued excellence.
For those international students impacted here at Rutgers Health, I urge you to utilize Rutgers Global, who will provide assistance and resources to the international community and help with visa processing, academic support, and advocacy and outreach. For immigration-specific questions, Rutgers Global-ISSS can be reached at immigration@global.rutgers.edu. In addition, the Rutgers Immigrant Community Assistance Project (RICAP) continues to provide free and confidential legal consultations.
The most current information and guidance on immigration policy updates can be found on the Rutgers Global Alerts page. For academic assistance and support, reach out to your school’s student affairs office.
As we navigate these uncertainties and challenges, I remind you again that our core values and commitment to improving lives through education, research, patient care, and service remain unchanged.
We are in this together and will continue to keep you informed as these conversations evolve.
Sincerely,
Brian L. Strom, MD, MPH
Chancellor, Rutgers Health
Executive Vice President for Health Affairs, Rutgers University
