This webinar will provide a brief overview of the effects of elevated blood lead levels in children, how exposure occurs in New Jersey and how to prevent exposure in children. Siobhan Pappas, Ph.D. is the epidemiologist and Environmental Specialist for the New Jersey Department of Health, Childhood Lead Exposure and Prevention Program. As the epidemiologist and environmental specialist Dr. Pappas is responsible for the oversight of environmental investigations throughout the state for childhood elevated blood lead cases as well as all epidemiological studies of elevated blood lead levels in children conducted by the program.
