Attend this Grand Rounds event featuring Edwin Boudreaux, PhD, professor of Emergency Medicine, Psychiatry and Quantitative Health Sciences, and vice-chair of research for the Department of Emergency Medicine at UMass Chan School of Medicine. 

The topic of the event is "Creating a System of Safety: Advancing Suicide Prevention in Health Systems." The objectives of the event are: 

  • To understand the seven elements of the Zero Suicide framework
  • To improve knowledge and skills related to deploying suicide-related best practices
  • To be aware of the potential impediments to studying system-based deployments of suicide-related best practices

Audience: All health care professionals

Accreditation: In support of improving patient care, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Physicians: Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences designates this live activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Pharmacists: This knowledge-based activity qualifies for 1 contact hour of continuing pharmacy education credit. Pharmacists should claim only those contact hours actually spent participating in the activity.

Nurses: This activity is awarded 1 ANCC contact hour. Nurses should claim only those contact hours actually spent participating in the activity.

Physician Assistants: Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 1 AAPA Category 1 CME credit. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.

Psychologists: Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs. This activity will offer 1 CE credit for psychologists. Partial credit will not be awarded to psychologists.
