Topic: Caring for Ourselves: Building Self-Compassion in Healthcare and Beyond
By the end of the training, participants will be able to, define self-compassion and explain its three core components (self-kindness, common humanity, mindfulness) based on Dr. Kristin Neff’s research, understand the evidence base linking self-compassion to reduced burnout, improved emotional regulation, resilience, and patient care outcomes, identify common barriers healthcare workers face in practicing self-compassion and practice evidence-based strategies to manage stress in real time.
Audience: All Rutgers Health, RWJBarnabas Health, and University Hospital Newark faculty, clinicians, staff and learners including residents, fellows and students.
