Holiday Greetings from Chancellor Strom
December 19 2024
As we approach the end of 2024, we want to take a moment to reflect on what has been a truly momentous year for Rutgers Health—thanks to the dedication, passion, and hard work of our faculty, staff, and learners. Together, we have advanced our mission to improve health and well-being for all people.
One of our finest achievements of 2024 has been the remarkable progress we’ve made in advancing health equity. A notable triumph was securing nearly $50 million through the NJ ACTS grant, a transformative investment aimed at improving health for people across New Jersey. We also hosted our inaugural Health Equity Symposium, a powerful gathering to address disparities in healthcare access and outcomes.
This year, we were proud to introduce the Rutgers Health Services Corps, a new service-learning initiative that empowers Rutgers students to engage in health care and community service, aimed to improve health outcomes and reduce disparities. Our commitment to fostering inclusion and equity was further recognized when we received the prestigious AAAS SEA Change Biomedicine Bronze Award, a testament to the internal efforts driving change across our institution. And beyond these accomplishments, we are grateful for the daily commitment of our community to advancing health equity—whether through providing exceptional care to our patients, educating and mentoring our learners, or developing innovative solutions both in and beyond the lab.
As we look back, we are filled with gratitude for all that you have accomplished in advancing our shared mission. The meaningful progress we’ve achieved this year would not have been possible without your unwavering dedication and resilience. We hope you take time in the coming weeks to rest, recharge, and enjoy the holiday season with your loved ones.
Wishing you a joyous holiday season and a healthy, happy new year.
