Engagement & Teaching Excellence

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Engagement and Teaching Excellence shapes teaching, learning, and engagement across Rutgers Health. We are committed to building supportive work and learning environments for all, as well as the many forms of engagement that define our public mission in teaching, research, career building support, and service.

Vice Chancellor Sangeeta (Gita) Lamba works with faculty and staff leaders across Rutgers Health academic units to foster a campus culture where all are able to thrive and feel valued, respected, and supported. She oversees a number of innovative and successful programs, including the IDEA mini-grants, the Advance-Engage-Mentor (AEM) program for early career faculty support, the Staff Mentoring Program, as well as several annual events to promote connection and campus networking.

The office also leads activities for the Rutgers Health HEALS (Health-Profession Educators Advancing Learning and Scholarship) Academy — designed to develop, support, and celebrate health professions/sciences teaching, educators, scholars, and learner-supporting staff through fostering of teaching innovation, educational scholarship, and professional development.
